Wealth of Geeks is a website that offers tips and tricks to grow your wealth. The website also keeps you up-to-date with tech, gaming, pop-culture, movies, and celebrities. They have tweeted, “Do you love movies and pop culture? Do you love to write? Do you like money? Great news, we are looking for more writers.” They start entertainment at $75 per short post/review. After two successful posts, they pay a higher rate.
Decidedly is a new product recommendations website hosted on Daily Mail. The website covers tech, gaming, home, and lifestyle. They are accepting pitches from freelancers. They are interested in ideas around anything product-related. They are currently prioritizing back-to-school content and articles that have a celebrity angle. Rates range from $250 to $500. Metro.co.uk covers news, lifestyle, health, food, sex, entertainment, sports, and more. Their editor is commissioning real-life stories and op-eds for Platform. No Depression is a print magazine and an online publication about roots music. Their managing editor is looking for 2 to 5 longform stories (1,500 to 4,000 words) for their Fall issue. Dissent is a website and quarterly print magazine that publishes political and cultural criticism. They are launching a new program to publish emerging writers. They want pitches for reported features, essays, cultural criticism as well as book reviews. They don’t want fiction. Rate is $0.50 per word for up to 2,000 words plus an additional stipend for expenses. They will give preference to writers under the age of 30. Root Quarterly is “a print-only, subscription-based quarterly journal rooted in Philadelphia, but not limited to Philadelphia-based content.” They are looking for fiction (500 to 2,000 words), personal essays or articles, cultural criticism and think pieces (500 to 3,500 words), long-form profiles of Philadelphia region artists, recommendations on what they might cover in their “recommendation” and “destination” sections, and artwork and photography. They give “very heavy preference to Philadelphia region writers” but are “open in particular when it comes to cultural criticism to a wide array of people.” They typically offer honorariums of $20 to $100 per piece. They pay 10 to 20 cents per word for longer, assigned profiles or articles.
Bright Wall/Dark Room is an online magazine that is dedicated to “exploring the relationship between cinema and the business of being alive.” They publish profiles, interviews, personal essays, cultural criticism, formal analysis, and humor pieces. Their critical essays are generally 1,500 to 3,000 words long. They pay $50 per essay.
The Willowherb Review is open for nature writing, broadly interpreted, from writers of color all over the world – non-fiction, fiction, and poetry. Pay is £100 for poetry and £250 for prose. The deadline is 30 June 2022.
Nightlight is a horror fiction podcast featuring Black writers all over the world (at least one of your birth parents must be Black). Their reading periods this year are February-June, and August-October. They also accept reprints. At the time of writing, they were also looking for story performers. Deadline: 30 June 2022 Length: Up to 10,000 words Pay: $75 for stories up to 3,000 words; $200 for stories of over 3,000 words.

Hello everyone! I get a lot of questions about what this newsletter is about.Write my money is a blog that caters to people that want to make money online from legitimate sources. My goal was for anyone to be able to work online and get paid.
To that end, this newsletter that comes out every week, sharing opportunities from full time remote jobs, to magazines that pay for articles.
The newsletter is broken down into tiers, the Public edition which is free (listing opportunities that pay up to $50), the WhatsApp edition for a $3/month subscription (listing opportunities that pay up to$100), the supporters edition for a minimum of $5/month (listing opportunities that pay up to$500) and the members edition for $10 per month.
The members edition has all of the higher paying opportunities, and most of the full or part time remote jobs are listed there.
Every now and again people let me know what they would be interested in pursuing, and I include that in the newsletter. There’s also a blog that shares about, and explains different aspects of making money online, remote work, personal finance etc. I hope that this brings some clarity.
Mycelia This is an online magazine from Hedera Felix. They publish fiction, poetry, and reviews. They want “the weird and the eerie.” They are reading for their fifth issue. Vautrin They publish gritty urban fiction and crime/mystery fiction. Also, “if you’ve written a good short story with crime fiction elements that doesn’t necessarily seem like genre fiction, it could still be a fit.” Deadline: 3 May 2022 Length: Up to 6,000 words Pay: $65-130
December magazine. Genre: Poetry, fiction, and creative non-fiction (essays, memoirs, biography, literary journalism, social or cultural commentary or analysis) and visual art that can be reproduced in our print format. Payment: $10.00 per page with a minimum of $40.00 and a maximum of $200.00. Deadline: May 1, 2022.
gal-dem is a British online and print magazine that is dedicated to sharing the stories of women and non-binary people of color. Their newly appointed politics editor is seeking pitches (for both UK and global pieces). She especially wants to amplify marginalized voices. Rates start at £100.
